Tegan and Sara
Good Records- Dallas, TX
Just thinking about this day makes me smile. Everything about this Friday was perfect. I woke up stupid early, headed to Starbucks, and was Dallas bound by 6:00 AM. It was a beautiful drive, almost lonely roads, seeing the sunrise, and I was spewing with excitement. I arrived at Good Records right at 9:00 and got a killer parking spot. (This may not seem like a big deal, but if you know me at all, you know I hate parking and I seriously stress about it.) I made friends with my line neighbors. We waited and waited… blah blah blah then we see a guy come out and start handing out wristbands. I tried not to get my hopes up and convinced everyone around us we were definitely not getting one. Whatever! We got one! The wristband granted us access to meet with Tegan and Sara afterward! Anyways, I was about the second row for the in-store performance. They played 7 songs and chatted with us. It was fantastic. When they were done, everyone cleared out and we got to take a quick picture with them and get an autograph if we wanted. It was one of the most surreal moments of my entire life. There was so much I wanted to say but all I could really muster was “Hi” and “thanks!” It was perfect.

Paramore with Tegan and Sara, New Found Glory, & Kadawatha
Verizon Theatre- Grand Prairie, TX
Later that night, I dragged my boyfriend Jonathan to their show at the Honda Civic Tour with Paramore. We arrived just as New Found Glory was finishing. (By the way, they put on a great show and walked around the auditorium giving screaming fans the mic. It was pretty great.) Tegan and Sara were just lovely. I thought they were a lot better at this HCT than their last in Houston. This was the first time I noticed how hot Shaun Huberts was for sure! My favorite part was when “Walking With A Ghost” started and the spotlight was beautifully highlighting Sara. It was phenomenal. My other favorite part (yeah I got two favorites, so what?) was when Sara paused to give one of the most beautiful & true thank you’s I’ve ever heard. She was so appreciative & so grateful for the audience and of their whole experience on the tour so far. It almost sounded like she got a little emotional, which of course made me emotional. Paramore was next and of course they rocked it out. The highlight for me of their set was “Where the Lines Overlap.” Hayley had a beautiful dedication to her fans and it was just something else to be a part of that huge crowd all singing along. I couldn’t help but smile because I knew how excited all the Paramore fans were to be there and I was just so… happy for them because I know that feeling all too well.
