long drives, long lines, & things i won't forget for a really long time. part one.

The best concerts are always the hardest to write about. I don’t want to disappoint anyone (self included) by not living up to the hype that was the concert. So now that the disclaimer is out of the way, here goes nothin’!

09/09/10
Paramore with Tegan and Sara, New Found Glory, & Kadawatha
Houston, TX- Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion

Erin, Me, & Pilar at the show
Oh Tegan and Sara & their big heads.  (Get it?!)
Tegan and Sara were good, not my favorite sighting, but good nonetheless.  They kept it short with some funny banter about buying a house in Texas and becoming a football coach (stemming from Tegan’s love for Friday Night Lights.)  Sara didn’t say one word, which isn’t totally shocking considering her track record for stage banter as of late.  “The Con” was a definite highlight.  It was more than a little weird not being surrounded by/supported in dance by other Tegan and Sara fans.  At one point (actually two points) the group I was with was asked to sit down.  We politely declined.  Paramore put on a great show.  Hayley Williams was cute with how she “sucked [us] in” to the Paramore family.  My main disappointment was that they did not play “My Heart.”  But I will say it was really entertaining to see them pull a fan out of the audience to sing on “Misery Business” with them; even though I was extremely nervous for the lucky fan throughout.  Check out the (crappy) video I took of Tegan and Sara's "Walking With A Ghost" below:
