| A little sunburnt, but we don't care! Right Erin? |
I’m going to do something a little different for this one. You’ll see. But first for the intro... Erin and I arrived in Tulsa late morning/early early afternoon. I’ll spare you the dramatics, we sat in line for an ungodly amount of time, made line-neighbor friends, sweated it out, almost died, whatever. Once we were in and our front row status was solidified, we were golden! So, here is their set list & my thoughts:
Acoustic:
1. Call It Off
2. Dark Come Soon- Probly the best I've ever heard Tegan sing this song, beautifully done.
3. Burn Your Life Down- This was my first time hearing this song, and just knowing the background of the song (Tegan and Sara's grandpa died and Sara kind of wrote it about her grandpa.) made it so emotional and definitely unforgettable especially since it was my first time hearing it live. I may or may not have teared up.
4. I Know I Know I Know
5. Monday Monday Monday- I've commented on this before, but I really do love how they slow it down. Sounds so much more.. sad and a little haunting.
6. Like O, Like H- Again, this was my first time hearing this particular song live and it has been one of my favorites for a while. Let me tell ya, it was FANTASTIC live. Tegan's backup vocals, Sara's killer voice. Loved every minute of it.
7. Red Belt
8. The Ocean- Tegan killed it, absolutely killed it. She had SO much emotion during this one. So crazy to actually watch it and be a part of it.
9. Feel It In My Bones
10. Nineteen- This is one of the first times I really started to notice Johnny on the drums; he's so fun to watch. If you have a copy of this song, I suggest you listen to a live version of this song and listen for Sara's backups when she sings, "I was yours right? I was yours right!" Gets me every time!
11. Living Room
Full Band:
12. The Con
13. I Bet It Stung
14. Walking With A Ghost
15. So Jealous
16. Hell
17. Northshore
18. Alligator
19. Back in Your Head
20. On Directing
21. Where Does The Good Go- This is song that got me hooked. I heard it while watching Grey's Anatomy and had to buy their CD immediately. I went home with The Con & So Jealous and never looked back. When they played it at this show, it wasn't even a song anymore, it was an experience, a therapy session even. Again, Johnny on drums was totally (I want to say funky but I can't bring myself to say that seriously....) cool. (That'll have to do.) Click for YouTube video of WDTGG at Cain's. If you didn't watch the video (SHAME!) Tegan invited us all to sing the last chorus and it was very powerful.
22. Speak Slow
23. Sentimental Tune
24. You Wouldn’t Like Me
25. Hop A Plane
Encore:
26. Divided- Where Does The Good Go may have started it all, but Divided stole my heart. It is one of their most tender songs and it really captured me this lovely Saturday night and brought me to (happy) tears. I'm not exaggerating, ask Erin.
27. The Cure
