Redemption

08/13/11
Death Cab For Cutie with Frightened Rabbit
Verizon Theatre at Grand Prairie

Ben Gibbard of DCFC
This blog has been on my to-do list for far too long so I'm going to just post the setlist with some notes + the video I took.

1. I Will Posses Your Heart
2. Crooked Teeth
3. We Laugh Indoors
4. Photobooth (Chris Walla was on piano, and the intro to this song sounded amazing.)
5. Doors Unlocked and Open
6. Long Division
7. Grapevine (At this point, they did a PSA about how we shouldn't stand on each others shoulders because the people behind us wouldn't be able to see, how thoughtful!)
8. Codes and Keys
9. What Sarah Said
10. I Will Follow You Into the Dark (Please excuse the rude girls in the background!  Bitches.)

11. Your Bruise
12. 405
13. You Are a Tourist
14. The New Year (Nick Harmer led us in clapping; he's so cute!)
15. Soul Meets Body (Again, I couldn't help but watch Nick Harmer.  He just seemed so genuinely happy to be playing that night.)
16. Stay Young, Go Dancing (DCFC dedicated this one to Frightened Rabbit, who by the way, are pretty amazing.  Might I suggest: "Swim Until You Can't See Land")
17. A Movie Script Ending
18. Company Calls
19. We Looked like Giants (Ben took over another set of drums at this point and there was an entertaining drum-off between him and Jason McGerr.  And if you've seen Tegan and Sara's "The Con" DVD over and over like I have, you know Jason McGerr is an AMAZING drummer.)
20. Sound of Settling

Encore:
21. Some Boys
22. Title and Registration
23. Cath... (After someone crashed the stage, Ben poetically replied "I'm not impressed."  Nice.)
24. Transatlanticism (This is absolutely the best song to end a set with.  A perfect out-tro.  Jason McGerr totally killed it on drums on this one.)
