07/26/10 Lydia with Deas Vail & The Rocketboys Mango's Cafe- Houston, TX

I’ve been a pretty avid fan of Lydia for a while so when I heard they were breaking up I was bummed (but not so much surprised.) They put out a new album “Assailants,” definitely, definitely not their best. I found a friend who also enjoyed their music, Angie, and we were off to Houston to be a part of their farewell tour. The openers Deas Vail and The Rocketboys were good but not too memorable. Whoops. Me and Angie easily made it to the front. (Do I really need to keep mentioning this?) Yes, yes I do. Leighton played great, a lot of emotion and absolutely sensual.  I was directly in front of (and consequently under) Leighton the whole set.  Check out the video clip of "Always Move Fast" I got. Also of note, it was without a doubt the sweatiest show I’ve ever been to. Glad I was able to make it and also glad it was only in Houston. It was a great summer of concerts.
